Since the mid-1970s the number of skiing accidents has decreased markedly,
mostly due to improvements in ski equipment.
On average, a skier will have some sort of accident requiring medical
attention only once every 200 days of skiing.

| Age Concern? |

There is no upper age limit for skiing. As long as you remain fit and agile
and have mastered a good basic technique, there is no reason why you should
not ski well into your seventies.
Normally people are less in a rush in life by their Autumn years, which
is just as well as it can take older skiers longer to acclimatise. However,
senior skitizens do have the advantage when evening comes around and tend
to be better at wining, dining and dancing 'till dawn. Seeing as they are
more likely to be able to afford it and less likely to care about the
repercussions, we would advise you to make the most of it.
